Conservative principles have proven throughout history to work best for individuals and society.
Attacks on Conservative thinking are almost always targeted at the individual Conservative and almost never the principles of Conservatism.

Conservative principles shape our view of the role of government which is the primary limiter of both our freedom AND our opportunity.
Government is necessary for an orderly society but government should be limited to the minimum size required and we the people hold the power to decide this.

Conservatives seek effective governing by our elected officials and conservatives seek elected office to govern with proven principles.
Government is a very large pool of money and power
Conservatives defend against those seeking office only to exercise power
Conservatives defend against those who seek to get elected by promising favors from the government.
Politics is the business of getting elected. Conservatives advance principles that increase opportunity for everyone to prosper.
This is generally in contrast with those promoting government programs that promise security at the expense of freedom or promise a freedom at the expense of principle – neither of which work.
Dependence on government instead of one’s self destroys the spirit of life.
The political battle is mainly fought under the banner of two parties – Republican and Democratic – which serve to consolidate power in the hands of two people not elected by the people - Speaker of The House and Senate Majority Leader.
It is extremely important to understand the forces that work to fill these positions.
It is extremely important that we the people follow this process and keep it on track .
As citizens, it is our principles that matter. To the extent that Political forces move our elected officials away from sound principles, we the citizens must nominate and vote for candidates who uphold proven principles.

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.
